Harare Street Trend: Cuffed Denim

I’m a Denim Darling! And I’ve quite a few pieces in my closet especially the skinny cut. But this Autumn/Winter season I’m working the new cuffed denim which is making serious waves on Harare’s streets amongst the ladies. Now we’re all familiar with the original rolled-up cuffed denim, but this one is a little different. Practically Every girl is rocking this denim with anything from a simple t-shirt to a feminine blouse topped off with a blazer! Personally I prefer my cuffed denim a little more casual with my plaid shirt and belt both from Mr. Price (SA), black pumps from Bata Zim and a nude chain link purse I got from SK2 . The great advantage about the cuffed denim is that you can either keep it at ankle length or choose to roll it up the leg, whichever way you desire.
I hope the gentlemen jump onto this trend pretty soon.

As always…

Local Lovely Flavour: Chocolate Princess (Chocolat Princesse)

Whilst scrolling through The Zimbo Jam Facebook page a while ago, I stumbled upon The Chocolate Princess or as I would like to say in French - Chocolat Princesse. Ever since then Chocolate Princess has been my newly found lady obsession! So I decided to do a little research and label it “My Local Lovely Flavour” feature and share it with everyone. The Chocolate Princess is the brainchild of the vivacious Rudo J Nyangulu who is not only a fabulous lady herself but is also a devoted arts and media individual, having founded E:thos Photography and The Art of Being Humane Foundation. The Chocolate Princess Co focuses primarily on the development and empowerment of Women through their gorgeous events and brand development for the business savvy lady.  Ladies Pamper Thy Self is their oh-so-popular monthly event that is strictly for the ladies and by the ladies and is taking place on the 30th June 2012 in Harare.
I’m loving this Local Lovely Flavour for not only being Local (born and bred in Zimbabwe) but for being Gorgeous-Glam with a High Powered suit in tow. If you are a lady like me, I’m pretty sure you’ll be obsessed with Chocolate Princess and their vision as much as a I am. Show some Love and get acquainted with Chocolat Princesse (in French).
For more information on The Chocolate Princess check out their Facebook page and Twitter page.
Have Fun.

Love This Label: The Row

I’m pretty sure everyone is familiar with the Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley. We literally grew up watching these girls from their little days on Full House right up to their sitcoms and movies such as “New York Minute”. I mean there was a point were these girls owned the Movie Industry but now they’ve taken on a new venture, from Actors to Designers. I’m loving their clothing line “The Row” which was launched in 2007 and has a very boho-chic theme to it. This time around I love their Spring 2012 collection consisting of flowing white tops and pants. The look is baggy, oversized clothing with a relaxed feeling to them. No wonder the girls scooped the award for Women’s wear Designer of the Year at the 2012 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards in New York  on June 4, 2012. Gotta love ‘em!

I’ve been a huge fan of the Olsen Twins and their clothing line sets them above the rest with a full collection on leather handbags (my fave) and jewelry, it’s a shame that “The Row” is only restricted in the USA. I think its time they moved ashore…..in Africa maybe.

My Weekend Ensemble: Laid Back Look

Winter has definitely hit Harare now and I’m pretty sure quite a few of our delicious socialites are keeping the party indoors on the weekend just to avoid the cold chill outside. I did just that this past weekend by bringing out my favourite colour out of my closet; Black. In my pics I’m rocking black head to toe with a black blouse that I raided from my Mum’s closet from the 80’s, black skinnies from Zim Edgars, black high heels by Cupid (scouted) and my beige cardi with my grey scarf both scouted in H-town. I was just Sunday Chilling.

As always my lovlies….
